Also, the films star, Amy Carlson, is getting great reviews for her role in CBS's Blue Bloods.
March 27, 2010:From the director, on March 12th:
"Well...........................
The drive that houses the movie has been dusted off and is connected to
my system. I'm really slammed right now but I'm going to start tinkering
around the first of April when my schedule opens up. My hope is to get
it completed by summer. Yes, summer.
Jp"
This is officially the fifth different completion date he has given the investors in the film. Last week was the fifth anniversary of the sale, so it's been a completion date promise per year. Here's hoping this one sticks. Good luck John.
September 24, 2009:Word is, the film is still alive. John Petrini has had some distractions and it once again caused a delay in post-production. This is nothing new in the industry, especially independent films, and especially over the last three years economically. By the end of the year, fingers crossed, we will finally take the next step.
August 16, 2009:Oh well. July has come and gone. After saying July 2009 was when he would complete the film, John (director and de facto 'producer') has once again pulled a Billy Walsh and disappeared. He usually re-surfaces in a few months to give us all a new completion date to look forward to, so there's that to look forward to.
Just three months until our fourth anniversary of filming. Next March is the fifth anniversary of the sale to Vince (and the sixth anniversary of the option). So it goes.
July 7, 2009:Paul Borghese, who had a bit part in our film, has six new feature films completed or in post-production, one with Kal Penn, another starring Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci, and another with Anthony Michael Hall and the late Chris Penn, who died shortly after filming Aftermath.
The fellas over at
HossBoss Productions are still making comedy shorts.
The new word I got on the film, via facebook, is that John is working on post-prod this month, with hopes to finish it in the coming weeks.
January 20, 2009:Co-producer Pelin Uzay's short,
Concerto, is doing well at Sundance.
The boys at
HossBoss Productions are back at it.
Oh, and rumor has it that the film will be finished this year. Again.
September 19, 2008:Back and forth the news goes... thanks to the economy, now the film will not be finished this year. Still going to complete it without re-shoots (because finding money for that is less likely), but when John gets to it is unknown at this point. Starting to slip away.
After re-shoots this film will almost hit the million dollar mark. Hopefully it's all worth it (for the investors. I already got paid).
June 25, 2008:Two cast members (Vincent LoRusso (also co-producer) and John Miller) have been making shorts with their new production company:
HossBoss Productions.
As far as the film goes: word has it that the film will go through post-production without re-shoots. Going as is for the finish in September. Be more fun to aim for March 2009 and make it a full six years, but any word of it possibly (and finally) being finished is good news.
June 1, 2008:Director John Petrini has a short film in the 2008 Atlanta Film Festival, entitled
The Devil Goes Down. Check out the preview
here.
September 10, 2007:Pre-production on re-shoots have started and 2008 is looking like a very realistic completion date.
June 13, 2007:The second edit is completed, but John thinks an August release is now a longshot, especially if there are re-shoots needed. He thinks a few months into 2008 is more realistic.
November 19, 2006:All the paperwork is finally signed and delivered and post-production continues. An August 2007 release date is possible.
November 20, 2005: Photos I took myself at the shoot in November.
April 28th, 2004: The re-write.
